Changes to Fire Safety Laws
Not sure if everyone is aware of this important change to the law?
As of February 2022, you will need to have the right smoke/heat and carbon monoxide alarms fitted in your home.
Basically you need to have a set of interlinked alarms in your house.
The kitchen needs a heat sensor and your living room and hallways require smoke alarms.
A Carbon monoxide alarm is also required but only applies if you have a gas fire or boiler (this doesn’t need to be interlinked) .
These can either be fitted (wired by an electrician) or radio linked (these can easily be fitted yourself if you want).
We are looking into getting a set of units that are interlinked and have a sealed for life 10 year battery and will post a link once we find a cheap reliable option that you can fit yourself.
