Disgraceful Scot’s Tory…
The Scot Tories, or to give them their proper name, The Scottish Branch of the London based Conservative and Unionist Party, really have no shame when it comes to demeaning the people of Scotland, ridiculing the SNP opposition, misleading the public and misreporting matters relating to Scotland’s political affairs.
Here we take a brief look at the most recent antics of Ruth Davidson the leader of what she likes to refer to as “Her” Scottish Conservative Party.
This tweet saw Ruth Davidson trying to smear the First Minister by insinuating on social media that Nicola Sturgeon had been installed into Bute house without a “Holyrood” election, which of course was false, because Nicola Sturgeon was first voted in as First Minister by Holyrood on the 19th of November 2014 following the resignation of then first minister Alex Salmond, Ruth stood against Nicola for the position and the result of the vote was a resounding 66 to 15. Maybe it came as such a shock to Ruth Davidson’s ego that she simply forgot that fact… Nicola Sturgeon was voted in a second time on the 17th of May 2016, when she defeated Lib Dem leader Willie Rennie by a vote of 63 to 5, so again she was elected by Holyrood into office. This insinuation is a blatant attempt by Ruth Davidson to undermine Nicola Sturgeon’s position as the legally and democratically elected First Minister of Scotland….
The First Minister is nominated by the Scottish Parliament from among its members at the beginning of each term and a vote on those nominated takes place, so in theory any member of the Scottish Parliament can become First Minister.
